This intensive hands-on course is designed for kids aged 12-18 years who have a background and a passion for robotics and want to immerse themselves in building and programming a smart robot car using Arduino UNO. Over the course of three weeks, students will engage in a comprehensive learning experience, combining theory and practical sessions. They will work with an Arduino UNO and a Robot Car Kit, along with an HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor, to create an autonomous robot capable of obstacle detection and navigation.
Course Duration: 9 sessions (3 weeks x 3 sessions per week)
Course Educational Hours: 12 hours (6 hours theory, 6 hours hands-on practice)
Course Starting Date: Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023
Course End date: Friday, Aug. 18, 2023
Prerequisites: Completion of our Introductory Robotics Course (or equivalent knowledge)
Course Objectives:
Introduce students to the world of Arduino and its applications in robotics.
Familiarize students with the components of the Robot Car Kit and the HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor.
Teach students how to program the Arduino UNO board to control the robot car’s movement and sensors.
Guide students in building a smart robot car capable of obstacle detection and navigation.
Encourage teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity through intensive hands-on projects.

By the end of this intensive course, students will have gained practical experience in building and programming an autonomous robot car using Arduino. They will be equipped with valuable skills in Arduino programming, robotics, and problem-solving, setting a strong foundation for further exploration and creativity in the field of robotics.
Course Education Fees: 200 CAD$ ( Originally was 240$ – 40$ Summer Discount ), Charged by: Camp in Labs Foundation
Robot Car Kit with Arduino UNO (Soled separately, by Abra Electronics): Hardware Fees: 87.62 CAD$
Students attending this course or their parents are required to purchase a Robot Car Kit with Arduino UNO, which will be used throughout the course. A full Robot Car Kit Package can be bought and picked up from the following store in Montreal at this link:
The price of the Robot Car Kit Package required for this course is 87.62 CAD$ which is soled and charged separately by Abra Electronics. This kit includes all the necessary hardware, electronic and sensor components for the students to build their own robot car, allowing them to learn how to use hardware and electronic components and assemble their own robot. During this course, students will learn and develop their programming skills, and conduct projects and assignments using their own built robot car.
